Who is Yunara in League of Legends?

Not much official information has been released about Yunara just yet, aside from speculation about her role. Some early leaks suggested she might be a support, but this was quickly debunked by Riot’s Director of Content Strategy, Brian Cearns, who confirmed that Yunara is not a support champion.

Shortly after, the official League of Legends social media accounts confirmed that the mysterious figure in the cinematic is indeed Yunara, a brand-new ADC champion set to debut in Season 2!

Her abilities remain a mystery for now, but based on the cinematic, it looks like her powers are tied to the glowing lanterns she hangs in the trees and the flowers she releases into the air. There’s also a strong possibility that she’s a spirit-like being (similar to Janna), especially since all the cinematic scenes take place in the Spirit Realm—and the only trace of Yunara in Runeterra is a statue.

When Will Yunara Be Released in League of Legends?

According to Riot’s recent developer update by Paul “Pabro” Belleza, Yunara is expected to launch in Act II of Season 2. He teased that players will learn more about Yunara “and her connection to the Spirit Blossoms” as we get closer to her release date.

This means we’ll likely need to wait at least a month or two after Season 2 kicks off. For context, League of Legends Season 2 officially begins on April 30. So get ready, marksmen mains—a new ADC with a mysterious, magical flair is about to shake up the bot lane meta in Summoner’s Rift!
