MOONTON Games has officially announced the slot allocation for the M8 World Championship, the eighth World Championship tournament in the history of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The tournament will mark a major milestone for the MLBB esports ecosystem, as the main M Series event will be held outside Southeast Asia for the first time.

The slot allocation announcement was made by MOONTON on August 26, 2026, showcasing how MLBB’s new competitive structure, which now consists of five global regions, will be implemented at M8.

M8 World Championship Comes to Europe for the First Time

The M8 World Championship is scheduled to take place in January 2027 in Istanbul, Türkiye. This will be the first time an M Series Grand Finals event is held in Europe.

Meanwhile, the M8 Wild Card will take place beforehand in Bangkok, Thailand. This year’s Wild Card stage will also undergo a major expansion compared to M7.

MOONTON previously announced a restructuring of the MLBB esports ecosystem into five major regions:

• SEA — Southeast Asia
• EECA — Eastern Europe & Central Asia
• EMEA — Europe, Middle East & Africa
• EA — East Asia
• AMER — Americas

The new structure is part of MOONTON’s strategy to expand the MLBB competitive ecosystem on a global scale.

16 Slots Available for the M8 Main Stage

Overall, the M8 Main Stage will feature 16 teams. Based on MOONTON’s official announcement and the graphics shared through the official MLBB Esports account, the slot allocation is as follows:

This means that 13 teams will receive direct invitations to the Main Stage, while the remaining three spots will be decided through the Wild Card stage.

One of the biggest changes at M8 is the Wild Card format. At M7, the Wild Card featured eight teams competing for just two Main Stage spots. For M8, MOONTON has increased the number of participating teams to 10, while the number of available Main Stage spots has also increased to three.

Thailand will host the M8 Wild Card stage. Choosing Bangkok as the venue is also part of MOONTON’s efforts to strengthen the MLBB esports ecosystem in Thailand.

MOONTON previously announced the integration of Thailand’s competitive scene into the global MLBB ecosystem, including through the launch of MSL Thailand. The M8 Wild Card will be one of the major international MLBB events to be held in the country.
