The first season of the VALORANT Champions Tour organized by Riot Games officially concluded today with the VALORANT Champions 2023 tournament. The championship was claimed by North American powerhouse Evil Geniuses after defeating the strong challenge from Paper Rex in the grand final.

Evil Geniuses entered VALORANT Champions 2023 as the second representative from the United States. They previously finished third in the VCT 2023: Americas League and were runners-up at VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo. However, the performance of Boostio and his teammates continued to improve, eventually leading them to dominate VALORANT Champions 2023.

Evil Geniuses Meets Paper Rex in the Grand Finals VALORANT Champions 2023

The Grand Final, held on August 27, 2023, was highly competitive. Paper Rex, as the last hope for Southeast Asia, actually had a strong chance to secure the title. However, Evil Geniuses’ performance in the final match crushed Paper Rex’s championship dreams. The match ended with a 3–1 victory for Evil Geniuses.

Meanwhile, for Paper Rex, their streak of misfortune in international VALORANT tournaments continues. They had previously fallen short in VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, VALORANT Champions 2022, and VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters – Copenhagen.

With this victory, Evil Geniuses earned the championship trophy along with a prize of US$1 million (approximately IDR 15 billion). Paper Rex, finishing in second place, received US$400,000 (around IDR 6.1 billion). Meanwhile, third place went to Brazil’s LOUD, who took home US$250,000 (approximately IDR 3.8 billion).

VALORANT Champions 2023 itself is Riot Games’ largest annual tournament. The event was held in Los Angeles from August 6 to August 27, 2023. It featured 16 of the best VALORANT teams from around the world, competing for a total prize pool of US$2.25 million (around IDR 34 billion).
