After being announced in September, it didn’t take long for DOTA 2’s new hero to be released. Valve officially launched a new hero, Kez, on November 8, 2024, coinciding with the new event Crownfall Act IV.

Kez, the New DOTA 2 Samurai Bird Hero

In terms of strategy, Kez tends to act unpredictably. He can switch quickly between his katana and sai to slash, dash, dive, or parry, adapting to the demands of battle. However, when he’s focused, he can calculate every possibility. Kez has the right tool for every job (assuming he remembers to use the right one at the right time) and can choose to attack, flee, or simply outsmart his enemies with a bit of planning.

Kez comes to DOTA 2 as a melee Carry hero with both escape and disable abilities. He has two interchangeable skill sets based on his weapons—the Kazurai Katana and Shodo Sai. This means Kez has a total of 8 different abilities he can use.

Crownfall Act IV and Kez’s Debut

Kez’s arrival coincides with DOTA 2’s latest event, Crownfall Act IV. Crownfall is a popular recurring event series from Valve, where players complete missions and face various challenges. This event also gives players more storyline insights into DOTA 2 heroes, making Crownfall Act IV even more exciting. In addition, players can earn special items and cosmetic skins during the event.
