Defeating ONIC Esports, ONIC PH Crowned ESL Snapdragon Series 6 Champions

February 16, 2025

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competitive scene is heating up once again with the ESL Snapdragon Series 6, featuring intense battles between some of the best teams in the region. ONIC PH from the Philippines emerged as the tournament champion after delivering outstanding performances throughout the event. ONIC PH defeated Indonesia’s ONIC Esports with a dominant 4-0 scoreline in the grand finals.

The grand finals, held on Sunday, February 16, 2024, were highly anticipated by fans. Unfortunately for Indonesian supporters, ONIC PH completely dominated the series. ONIC Esports struggled to develop their gameplay and could not keep up with the aggressive playstyle shown by ONIC PH. As a result, Kairi and his teammates were unable to match the strength of the Filipino squad. ONIC PH secured the championship title after sweeping ONIC Esports 4-0 in convincing fashion.

This victory at ESL Snapdragon Series 6 further extends the dominance of ONIC PH and Filipino teams in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene. Earlier, ONIC PH also won the Mobile Legends World Championship Challenge at the beginning of 2025 and the M6 World Championship at the end of 2024.

The result also highlights how Indonesian Mobile Legends teams are still struggling to reclaim an international trophy. Teams such as ONIC Esports, RRQ Hoshi, and Team Liquid ID continue to live under the shadow of the powerful Filipino teams.

Even so, Indonesian teams can learn valuable lessons from this tournament. They will soon compete in MPL ID Season 15 next month, the biggest Mobile Legends tournament in Indonesia. The winner of MPL ID Season 15 will earn the opportunity to represent Indonesia once again on the international stage.

About ESL Snapdragon Series 6

ESL Snapdragon Series 6 is an unofficial tournament organized outside of Moonton’s official esports circuit. The tournament serves as an early-season competition and practice ground for Mobile Legends esports teams.

The event took place from February 10 to February 16, 2024, in Malaysia. A total of 12 of the best Mobile Legends teams in Southeast Asia participated in the tournament, competing for a total prize pool of US$150,000, or approximately IDR 2.5 billion.
