Unfortunate news has come from Indonesia’s representative at the M5 World Championship 2023. Nael, who plays for Geek Fam ID, has received a sanction from Moonton.

The incident occurred during Geek Fam ID’s Group D match against Russia’s representative, Deus Vult, at M5 World Championship 2023. In what was an intense match, Nael was deemed to have committed excessive taunting toward the opposing team. Following this action, Moonton took firm action by imposing a penalty on Nael.

Nael received a fairly heavy sanction: he is banned from competing with Geek Fam ID in their next two matches. This punishment is considered significant, as Geek Fam ID will be without their main jungler for the upcoming games. These two matches are likely to take place in the first round of the M5 World Championship 2023 playoffs. Both Geek Fam ID and Nael issued clarifications and public apologies through their social media accounts.

In response to Nael’s absence, Geek Fam ID acted quickly. The team announced Aboy as the replacement jungler for the next two matches. Aboy is originally Geek Fam ID’s midlaner but has been shifted to the jungler role. Meanwhile, the team’s substitute player, Cadera, will step in as a starter. Either Cadera or Markyyy will then take on the midlane and goldlane positions, as both players primarily play as goldlaners.

Despite the setback, Geek Fam ID successfully topped the Group D standings at M5, even though they lost their opening match against HomeBois. They finished first in the group with two wins and one loss. Deus Vult secured second place with the same number of points but lost the head-to-head record against Geek Fam ID.

With this result, Geek Fam ID will face the runner-up from another group in the first round of the M5 World Championship 2023 playoffs, which are set to begin on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
