This strategic move was revealed via MLBB’s official Facebook account on March 26, 2025, with the migration process set to begin on March 27, 2025. The new version, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang US, will be available for download on the same day.

MOONTON has assured players that no progress or game data will be lost during the migration. However, players must download the new version of the game. Google Play users will have the added benefit of claiming exclusive rewards during the transition. Meanwhile, for iOS users, Skystone is working to expedite the App Store approval process and will provide updates as necessary.

Why Skystone Was Chosen as MLBB’s U.S. Publisher

The decision to appoint Skystone as the new publisher follows the temporary ban of MLBB in the U.S. on January 19, 2025—a result of broader restrictions on TikTok, which, like MOONTON Games, is owned by the Chinese tech giant ByteDance. The ban was later lifted by President Donald Trump through an Executive Order, allowing MLBB to resume operations on January 21, 2025. However, this order was only valid for 75 days, set to expire on April 3, 2025.

With this deadline approaching, there is a risk that MLBB could once again face operational restrictions in the U.S. As a preventive measure, MOONTON’s decision to shift publishing rights to Skystone is seen as a strategic move to secure MLBB’s presence in the American market.
