The first major Dota 2 tournament of early 2024, ESL One Birmingham 2024, will begin soon. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Birmingham, United Kingdom from April 22 to April 28, 2024. A total of 12 teams have secured their spots in this event, which features a prize pool of US$1 million (around IDR 15 billion).

The twelve participating teams will be divided into two groups, with six teams in each group. Every team will face one another in a best-of-two format during the group stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the teams finishing in 3rd and 4th place will move to the lower bracket, while the bottom two teams will be eliminated.

The playoff stage of ESL One Birmingham 2024 will use a double-elimination format. Most matches will be played in a best-of-three, while the Grand Final will be played in a best-of-five series.

Although no Indonesian teams are competing in ESL One Birmingham 2024, two Indonesian players will still be present in the tournament. They are Whitemon, who plays for Tundra Esports, and Jhocam, who represents Talon Esports.

Gaimin Gladiators and Xtreme Gaming are still considered the two favorites to win ESL One Birmingham 2024. However, teams with renewed determination such as Tundra Esports and Team Spirit could challenge the dominance of these two powerhouse teams in the current Dota 2 competitive scene.
