The biggest annual Dota 2 tournament in the world, The International 2024 (TI 2024), is set to begin soon. The event will be held offline in Copenhagen, Denmark, from September 4 to September 15, 2024. A total of 16 of the world’s best Dota 2 teams will compete for a prize pool of more than US$2.3 million (approximately IDR 37 billion). The total prize pool is expected to increase further through sales of the Dota 2 Compendium.

The International 2024 Format and Schedule

The tournament will begin with the Group Stage, where the 16 participating teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each.

Once the Group Stage concludes, teams will move on to the Seeding Decider stage. Each group winner will have the opportunity to select an opponent from the teams that finished third or fourth in the other groups.

The winners of the Seeding Decider matches will advance to the Upper Bracket, while the losing teams will start their playoff journey in the Lower Bracket. The playoff stage will use a double-elimination format, featuring best-of-three (Bo3) matches throughout the bracket and a best-of-five (Bo5) format for the Grand Final.

Three Indonesian Players to Compete at TI 2024

Indonesia will be represented by three players at The International 2024: Whitemon, Mikoto, and Jhocam.

• Whitemon will compete with Tundra Esports, representing Western Europe.
• Mikoto and Jhocam will play for Talon Esports, one of Southeast Asia’s representatives.

It will be exciting to see how these three Indonesian players perform on the biggest stage in professional Dota 2 this year.
