This announcement significantly boosted the prize pools of both tournaments compared to previous seasons. MSC 2024 will offer a total prize pool of up to US$3 million (around IDR 47 billion), while MWI 2024 will feature a prize pool of up to US$500,000 (around IDR 7.8 billion).

The CEO of Rex Regum Qeon, Andrian Pauline, shared his thoughts on the collaboration between MSC 2024 and EWC 2024. According to the man widely known as Pak AP, the Esports World Cup is a very important event for Saudi Arabia as well as for Mobile Legends teams around the world.

“Actually, preparation for the M-Series starts from the odd season; if you start in the even season, it’s already too late. But now that’s no longer possible—everything has to go full throttle from the beginning,” said Pak AP, as quoted from esports.id.

With such a massive prize pool, this naturally presents a new challenge for Mobile Legends teams worldwide. Teams can no longer focus only on the second half of the season leading up to the M-Series. Instead, they must now compete seriously right from the start of the year.

“Maybe the funds will be used to recruit more players or rebuild the team. I think it’s more than enough (the IDR 47 billion prize pool). Beyond facility upgrades, there could also be bonuses and other incentives,” Pak AP continued.

Pak AP also added that the enormous prize money would bring significant benefits to teams. They can rebuild or acquire new rosters, improve team facilities, and more. This will ultimately help elevate the overall quality and competitiveness of Mobile Legends teams, especially for the eventual MSC 2024 champion.
